The National Center for Protein Sciences, (dubbed as the PHOENIX Centre)/Beijing Proteome Research Center(BPRC), is located at Zhong Guan Cun Life Science Park,it is a national infrastructure for life sciences, the headquarters department of the Human Liver proteome Project, the state key laboratory of proteomics.

Henning Hermjakob, the head of bioinforamtics platform and the team leader of molecular system, invited Juergen Cox Heinz to give a two day intensive training workshop on MaxQuant. MaxQuant[1] is the leading, freely available quantitative proteomics software package designed for analyzing large mass-spectrometric data sets. It is specifically aimed at high-resolution MS data. Several labeling techniques as well as label-free quantification are supported.

MaxQuant has more recently been joint by Perseus[2], an advanced platform for statistical analysis of MaxQuant output. Together, MaxQuant and Perseus for a powerful package for the integrated analysis of proteomics data.

This intensive training workshop will enable participants to perform sophisticated quantitative data analysis in their own future research using the publicly available MaxQuant software, and to prepare impactful publications.

The course will be taught by

  • Prof. Jürgen Cox, PhD, the developer and PI of MaxQuant and Perseus, with support from

  • Jan Rudolph, PhD student, Max Planck Institute of Biochemistry, Munich, Germany, and

  • Dr Cheng Chang, Beijing Proteome Research Center, China.
